Here you can find all changes to the timetable change.

On August 27, 2025, there will be a timetable change at STOAG.

There are some new features online that we would like to break down in more detail. The timetables for these changes will be updated soon.

Changes in the day network

Slightly adjusted departure times between Bottrop and Oberhausen from Monday to Saturday.

To ensure more reliable adherence to the timetable, the Schemannsfeld-Hausmannsfeld bypass in the direction of Essen Unterstraße will temporarily be cancelled after reaching the “Unterstraße” stop.

Minor adjustment of the departure time on line 130

Due to the high passenger load on line 143, the frequency during rush hour will be increased when the timetable changes.

  • On the section between Oberhausen Hbf and Königsberger Straße, a 06-minute cycle will be introduced from Monday to Friday between 00:10 a.m. and 00:15 a.m. and 00:18 p.m. and 00:10 p.m.

Since December last year, line 919 has ended in Duisburg Obermeiderich at the “Oberhauser Straße” stop, but with the timetable change, the line will be extended into the Oberhausen city area.

 

  • In the future, the line will continue from the current terminus at Oberhausener Straße via “Obermeiderich Bf.”, “Alstadener Straße” and “Bero-Zentrum-Süd” to Oberhausen Central Station.

Stop “Laar Kirche”:

  • Line 919 is only allowed to stop there in the direction of Laar “Scholtenhofstraße”.
  • In the direction of Oberhausen, line 919 cannot stop there for traffic reasons.

Line 936 has been running within Duisburg's city limits to the "Alexanderstraße" stop since December of last year and will be extended with the timetable change. It continues beyond the current "Alexanderstraße" terminus, via Lirich, "Bero-Zentrum," "Oberhausen Hauptbahnhof," and "Marktstraße" to the "Anne-Frank-Realschule" stop.

 

  • New stop: “Ruhrorter Straße” in Lirich.
  • The extension will make many cross-city connections possible without changing trains:
    • From Duisburg-Nord, passengers can travel directly to the Bero Center, the city center and Oberhausen Central Station.
    • Passengers from Oberhausen have a direct connection to IKEA, the Landschaftspark, the Mercator Center and the St. Johannes Clinic.
  • Time change:
    • Line 936 runs hourly.
    • The extended line 939 will create a common 30-minute cycle on the section “Anne-Frank-Realschule”, “Oberhausen Hbf”, “Landschaftspark Duisburg” and “St. Johannes-Klinik”.

Line 939 no longer ends in the city center of Oberhausen, but is extended via Lirich to the new terminus, the “St. Johannes-Klinik” stop in Duisburg-Hamborn.

 

  • Due to the new route, the line crosses the city border between Duisburg and Oberhausen twice.
  • Line 939 runs hourly, but together with line 936, the section from Oberhausen serves “Anne-Frank-Realschule”, “Oberhausen Hbf”, “Landschaftspark Duisburg” and “St. Johannes-Klinik”. a 30-minute cycle.

 

Changes to the route:

 

In Oberhausen:

  • In Oberhausen, the route will run like this in the future: From Oberhauser Straße, the line will run via Alstadener Straße and the stops “Anne-Frank-Realschule”, “Marktstraße”, “Oberhausen Hauptbahnhof”, “Bero-Zentrum” to the “Pauluskirche” stop.
  • The "Glasstraße" and "Quartier 231" stops are no longer available. Alternatively, you can use the "Obermeiderich Bahnhof" or "Pauluskirche" stops, or transfer to one of the STOAG bus lines.
  • In the future, line 939 will serve additional stops on Alstadener Straße.

In Duisburg:

  • The Werthacker settlement and Sternbuschweg will no longer be served – lines 930 and 920 will run there instead.
  • The line also stops at the "Lutherplatz" and "Duisburg Hauptbahnhof" stops. At the main station, the line previously only stopped at the east entrance.

To ensure more reliable adherence to the timetable, the double service at the Aquapark stop will be discontinued at the timetable change, which has been confirmed by passenger counts on site.

 

  • In the direction of Graßhofstraße, the bus runs from “Haus Ripshorst” directly to the stop “Arminstraße”
  • In the direction of Tulpenstraße, the bus runs from “Haus Ripshorst” directly to the stop “Elektrostahlwerk”
  • In both directions, the elimination of the double bypass will result in slight adjustments to the departure times

Line 962 will receive a completely revised timetable, but the route will remain unchanged.

Line 966: Connection to the Niederrheinstadion:

Line 966 will receive a completely revised timetable due to the connection to the Niederrheinstadion.

 

  • Connection to the Niederrheinstadion in both directions
  • Time change:
    • Line 966 runs every 30 minutes at certain times:
    • Monday to Thursday from 16 p.m.
    • Friday from 13 p.m.
    • Saturday from 11 a.m.
    • Sunday from 12 a.m.

Changes in school transport

The following changes will be implemented to optimize the electric vehicle network:

E-car in the morning

Due to the additional services on line 143, this electric car is no longer available.

To ensure that schools can be reached on time at the start of the school year, the departure time will be brought forward.

The route will be extended via the current terminus “Sterkrade Bf” to Oberhausen Central Station via the bus route.

E-car in the afternoon

Due to low passenger numbers, the E-432 service from Tackenbergstr. to Osterfeld-Mitte has been cancelled.

 

The E-432 service from Schmachtendorf-Mitte to Oberhausen Central Station continues.

Due to the additional services on line 143 and the densification of the section from Oberhausen Hbf to Obermeiderich Bf. by lines 919 and 939, this electric car is no longer available.

From the timetable change, the E-car 438 will no longer terminate at the Osterfeld-Mitte stop but at the Osterfeld Süd Bf. stop.

From the timetable change, the E-439 will start at the Niederrhein-Kolleg stop and will run its usual route from Königsbergerstraße. Due to the extension of the electric car, the departure times will also change.

Due to low passenger numbers, this electric car is no longer available.

With the timetable change, the new electric car E-445 will be introduced. It starts at the “Holten Markt” stop and travels via “Heinrich-Böll-Gesamtschule” and “Tackenbergstraße” to Oberhausen Central Station.

 

The introduction of the electric car is intended to help relieve the congestion on scheduled services at the Theodor-Heuss-Realschule.
