The bus route remains on Herzogstrasse

The urban finance strengthening pact leads to extensive changes in the STOAG route network. With the timetable change on June 9, it was planned, among other things, that bus route 954 would no longer run over Herzogstraße. This would have meant the elimination of the Flöz-Röttgersbank stop. Alternatively, passengers could have reached the Taunusstraße and Ledigenheim stops within the distance of around 400 meters specified in the city's local transport plan.

Despite the fact that the general conditions of the local transport plan were met, the STOAG took the concerns of the older citizens of this quarter and the district mayors Dieter Janßen and Karl-Heinz Pflugbeil as an opportunity to re-examine the planning in the Herzogstraße area with the aim of finding a cost-neutral solution . In future, for example, line 976 coming from the Falkestraße stop will not travel via Kirchhellener Straße and Beethovenstraße to Sterkrade station, but via Fernewaldstraße and Herzogstraße. Since the travel time on this route is only slightly longer, there are neither additional costs nor extensive changes to the timetables and duty roster, so that the measure will be implemented with the timetable change on June 9th. In this way, the residents' wishes can be met that the Flöz-Röttgersbank stop is retained and the direct connection to Sterkrade and Königshardt continues to exist.
