The timetable for the great days

On the foolish days, STOAG increasingly uses buses. The carnival parades lead to diversions on Saturday in Osterfeld and on Sunday in downtown Oberhausen.
The NachtExpress lines run on the nights from Friday to Saturday and from Saturday to Sunday until the “normal” regular service starts the next morning. On Altweiber, Carnival Sunday and Shrove Monday, the night expresses NE1-NE12 run until around 1 a.m. Those who celebrate extensively get on the first lines of the day the next morning, which start around 4:30 a.m. All travel times are available in the electronic timetable information and via the STOAG app.
Of course, the STOAG Revierflitzer® don't take a break during the carnival days either. They start at 21 p.m. and run Altweiber until 2 a.m. the following day. They are on duty from Friday to Carnival Saturday until 6 a.m., from Carnival Saturday to 9 a.m. on Carnival Sunday, from Carnival Sunday to Shrove Monday and from Shrove Monday to Shrove Tuesday until 2 a.m. each time.

Right of way for the carnival parades
The closure of the city center of Osterfeld during the children's carnival procession on Saturday, February 10, leads to a wide-ranging bypass of the area. From around 13 p.m., bus traffic will be diverted via Werthfeldstraße, Fahnhorststraße and Kapellenstraße. Shuttle buses run to the center of Osterfeld from the replacement stop "Olga-Park" on Werthfeldstrasse and a replacement stop on Vestische Strasse, corner of Fahnhorststrasse.
On Carnival Sunday, February 11, bus traffic will be diverted from around 11:30 a.m. due to the carnival parade in the city center. All bus stops that are in the area of ​​the barrier cannot be approached by the buses. We recommend the “Hauptbahnhof” stop for arrival and departure.
During the carnival parade, tram line 112 will be interrupted from around 12 p.m. to 17:30 p.m. Buses run every 15 minutes instead of trams between the “Landwehr” stop and the main train station. During this time, the trams only commute between the main station and Sterkrade-Neumarkt and between Landwehr and Mülheim-Hauptfriedhof.
On Rose Monday, line 957 will be diverted from 14:15 pm for the duration of the Rose Monday parade in Vondern between the stops “Einbleckstraße” and “Arminstraße”. Minor disabilities are to be expected in the Alstaden area due to the post office route from around 11 a.m.
Wait for street cleaning
After the carnival parades, all the streets where the revelers celebrated are cleaned by the WBO. Only when this work has been fully completed and the area has been cleared by the police can the STOAG buses go back to the normal route. Experience has shown that this lasts until around 18:30 p.m. for the carnival processions in Osterfeld and in Alt-Oberhausen.

 
Ticket recommendation
For trips in Oberhausen, STOAG recommends either the 4-ticket for 12,50 euros (children 7,00 euros) for four trips or the 24-hour ticket for any number of trips within 24 hours for 8,30 euros (price level A), Each additional person pays 4,20 euros. Anyone traveling within Oberhausen for no longer than four hours benefits from the 4-hour ticket for 4,90 euros. For carnival nights, STOAG recommends the HappyHourTicket for 3,70 euros, which is valid for any number of trips within a city from 18 p.m. until the next morning. Accessibility of the STOAG
All STOAG customer centers are open regularly on Carnival Saturday and Shrove Monday. STOAG employees will be happy to provide information on which tickets are required to travel to the carnival events in Oberhausen or in the surrounding carnival strongholds. Tickets can also be bought via the STOAG app, in advance booking offices, from machines or on the bus, but not on the tram. In the STOAG buses, cashless payment is possible with all major credit cards, with Girocard and with Google Pay and Apple Pay.
