Free travel on World Children's Day

Every year on September 20th, World Children's Day is celebrated in Germany. This special day is intended to draw attention to the special rights of children and to focus on children with their individual needs. This year, the motto of World Children's Day is “Children's Rights Now!”. World Children's Day events are held in various cities. On this day, STOAG grants all children free travel. This means that children up to and including 14 years of age can use local transport throughout North Rhine-Westphalia free of charge on this day.

You can travel on all buses, trams and underground trains until the end of operations without a ticket, including S-Bahn, RB and RE trains, but not on trains that are subject to a surcharge (e.g. ICE or IC) or in 1st carriage class.
