Free travel on World Children's Day

Official World Children's Day takes place on Wednesday, September 20th. This special day is intended to draw attention to the special rights of children and to focus on children and their individual needs. This year, World Children's Day has the motto “Every child needs a future!” On World Children's Day, children under 15 can use local transport throughout North Rhine-Westphalia free of charge. You can travel without a ticket on all buses, trams and subways until closing time, including S-Bahn, RB and RE trains, but not on trains subject to a surcharge (e.g. ICE or IC) or in first class.

In Oberhausen The children's office invites you to the city sports association's premises on Lindnerstrasse on Sunday, September 24th, from 13 p.m. to 17 p.m. Exercise construction sites, bouncy castles and an obstacle course as well as numerous craft and play activities encourage people to take part and try things out. Children's songwriter Buddy Ollie is also there. STOAG offers all children under 15 years of age free travel to and from the city sports association grounds on the STOAG buses. The nearest stop is Schloss Oberhausen (lines 956 and 966).
