The 9-euro ticket for local public transport expires at the end of August. Immediately afterwards there will be a NRW-wide campaign for all STOAG subscribers in September and October. On all weekends, on German Unity Day and during the NRW autumn holidays, holders of a subscription can use all public transport in North Rhine-Westphalia free of charge. Selected routes to the Netherlands, for example with the RE19 to Arnhem Centraal or with the RE13 to Venlo, are also included. A good opportunity to pay a visit to the neighboring country.
In the months of September and October, in addition to the nationwide validity, the travel pass regulations will also be adjusted: two people (adults or children) and up to three children (6 up to and including 14 years of age) or two people (adults or children) may travel with each ticket, including the ticket holder. and ride up to two bikes. Time restrictions, such as 9 a.m. subscriptions, will be lifted as part of the promotion during promotional periods. The additional benefits of individual subscriptions, for example 1st class use with the BärenTicket, only apply to the original area of validity.
"Anyone who takes out a subscription in September or October will benefit from the campaign and can use all the advantages of the campaign from the first day on which the subscription ticket is valid," says Mirco Balkmann, Head of Sales and Marketing at the STOAG. With this campaign, public transport authorities, transport associations and transport companies say “thank you” to their subscribers and at the same time want to convince new passengers to switch to climate-friendly local transport.
