With the STOAG through the carnival

The STOAG buses rarely stand still on Carnival days. While Oberhausen is celebrating extensively, the NachtExpress lines operate on the nights from Friday to Saturday and Saturday to Sunday until "normal" regular service starts the next morning. On Altweiber and Rose Monday, the NachtExpresse run - depending on the line - until around 1 a.m. Those who party until well into the morning can take the first daily lines from around 4.30 a.m.

Diversions due to the carnival parades

When on the children's carnival procession in Osterfeld on Saturday 5th March, is a proper celebration, the buses bypass the Osterfeld city center extensively. From around 13.30 p.m., bus traffic will be diverted via Werthfeldstrasse, Fahnhorststrasse and Kapellenstrasse. Shuttle buses run to downtown Osterfeld from the “Olga-Park” stop on Werthfeldstrasse and a replacement stop on Vestischen Strasse, at the corner of Fahnhorststrasse (Lidl-Markt). STOAG recommends that motorists park their cars at the park-and-ride facility in Werthfeldstrasse and use the shuttle buses. The normal line route is released when the street cleaning is completed.
Am Carnival Sunday, March 6th, The bus traffic will be diverted from around 11.45:XNUMX am due to the carnival parade in the city center. The stops that are in the area of the barrier cannot be approached by the buses. We recommend the “Hauptbahnhof” stop for arrival and departure. Depending on requirements, particularly heavily used lines are reinforced by emergency vehicles.
During the carnival parade, tram line 112 will be interrupted from 12 p.m. to 17 p.m. Buses instead of trams run every 15 minutes between the “Landwehr” stop and the main train station. During this time, the trams only commute between the main train station and Sterkrade-Neumarkt and between Landwehr and Mülheim-Kaiserplatz.
"The buses cannot use the normal route again immediately after the carnival procession is over," explains press spokeswoman Sabine Müller. "Only when the street cleaning is completely finished - experience shows that this will be the case around 18.30 p.m. - will the streets be cleared."
Am Green Monday Line 957 will be diverted from 14.15 p.m. between the “Einbleckstraße” and “Arminstraße” stops for the duration of the Rose Monday parade in Vondern.
