New vehicles for the Revierflitzer® fleet

Since June 2020, the Revierflitzer have been expanding STOAG's mobility offering. Originally launched in the north of Oberhausen, the on-demand service has been available throughout the city since February 2021. The Revierflitzer are an ideal addition to the existing regular buses and trams, especially during times of lower demand from 21 p.m.

With an average of 230 trips per day on weekends, the vehicles have been well utilized so far and are contributing to sustainable mobility in Oberhausen. 15.000 users are registered in the Revierflitzer app and the trend is still rising. Last year alone, a total of 45.000 passengers were chauffeured in the Revierflitzers.

In order to meet the growing demand, especially on Saturdays and Sundays, STOAG has expanded its vehicle fleet by two more Revierflitzers. From November, the new six-seaters from the Mercedes Benz EVQ brand can be seen on the road and can be ordered via app. Like the previous LEVC vehicles in the Revierflitzer fleet, the new Mercedes vehicles are fully electric and therefore emission-free. Inside, passengers can expect a generous amount of space with high-quality vehicle equipment. "The cars have comfortable leather seats and are equipped with large panoramic windows in the roof area. Large electric sliding doors on both sides, which the driver can also operate, make it easier for our passengers to get in," reports Stefan Thurm, head of the workshop department and responsible for vehicle procurement at STOAG. The modern ambient lighting ensures a pleasant driving experience.

The new vehicles are not barrier-free and do not have a wheelchair ramp. However, if a wheelchair-accessible vehicle is required, STOAG has the following tip. "If you are a wheelchair user and want to use the Revierflitzer, there is a "wheelchair-accessible vehicle" option in the app. If you activate this option, we will automatically send you a suitable LEVC vehicle to the desired pick-up location," says Stefanie Knück, deputy press spokesperson.

The Revierflitzer are in operation every day from 21 p.m. to 2 a.m., on Saturday mornings until 6 a.m. and on Sunday mornings until 9 a.m. On Halloween night from October 31 to November 1, STOAG has extended the service so that the Revierflitzer are also on the road until 9 a.m. The on-demand service can only be booked digitally via the Revierflitzer app, which is available for download in the Google Play Store or the Apple Store.
