Safe on the move - bus travel with a rollator

STOAG invites you to a free safety training for rollator users on Wednesday, September 22nd. The training takes place at the Sterkrade bus station, bus platform 5. A STOAG bus is available here between 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. for practice purposes. Registration is not required.

Mobility and independence are very important today, also for people with reduced mobility and users of rollators. You can travel independently, reliably and safely within the city by bus and tram. "There are always uncertainties or wrong habits when using buses and trams with a walker," says STOAG press spokeswoman Sabine Müller. “Through targeted training, fears and insecurities are reduced and the subjective feeling of security is strengthened. Because getting on and off the bus is easy, but it has to be practiced so that it becomes routine and works well in everyday life even under time pressure, ”continues Sabine Müller.

Between 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., STOAG employees show how to get in and out of the walker correctly, give practical assistance and have tips on how to travel safely with public transport. Participation is free and relatives are also welcome. Since the training takes place on and in the bus, it is mandatory to wear a medical mask or an FFP2 mask.
