Buying tickets on buses is possible again

With immediate effect, STOAG will open the front doors in their buses again. This means that you can buy tickets again on almost all STOAG buses.

On March 14th, STOAG suspended ticket sales on the bus due to the risk of infection with the corona virus. The front entrance door remained locked and the first row of seats was provisionally separated. This was a necessary step to protect drivers and passengers.

Since August, STOAG has equipped all buses with protective windows at the driver's workstation. At the same time, the buses have received a new on-board computer and a new cash register system. This means that cashless payments in the vehicles are now possible with all major credit cards, with Girocard and with Google Pay and Apple Pay. Some older generation vehicles, which will not be in stock for too long, are excluded from the conversion. These buses, on which it is not possible to buy tickets, are marked with a corresponding notice on the front windshield.

"We are pleased that ticket sales are now possible again and we would like to thank our passengers for having accepted the inconvenience that this restriction brought with it," said STOAG spokeswoman Sabine Müller. "Especially customers who cannot or do not want to purchase tickets online and who have no advance booking office nearby appreciate buying tickets on the bus."

It goes without saying that passengers can still use the ticket machines to purchase tickets, purchase the ticket in advance booking offices, in the customer center, online or via the STOAG app. Sabine Müller: "When buying tickets on the bus, we would be delighted if as many customers as possible use the new cashless payment option."
