Back to the 80s - the STOAG vehicles are again on the road with the city coat of arms

In the STOAG workshop, not only were buses serviced these days, but new stickers were also applied. As part of the 125th anniversary, the Oberhausen coat of arms was applied to all STOAG vehicles.

Until the late 1980s, when the STOAG buses were painted ivory, they bore the city coat of arms. With the omission of this paintwork and the new color scheme - white with orange and red stripes for the VRR CityExpress buses and green with yellow stripes for the Oberhausen city buses - the city coat of arms was no longer stuck. "We are happy to take up the beautiful tradition of having the city coat of arms on our vehicles," says STOAG Managing Director Werner Overkamp. "For us, this is a clear commitment to Oberhausen."

The position of the coats of arms has changed several times over the years. In the past, the city coat of arms was initially on the right-hand side of the vehicle behind the first door, but later moved to the left-hand side. Now the coats of arms of the city are again placed on the left in the area of the driver's window or below the window. This is due to the large number of stickers and icons on the right side of the vehicle - the city coat of arms would almost disappear here. The trams, the Revierflitzer® and all service vehicles now also bear the Oberhausen coat of arms again.
