Current information on the corona virus

Dear passengers, in order to contain the spread of the corona virus and reduce the risk of infection, the federal and state governments regularly adapt their measures to the current situation. In everything we do, the safety and health of passengers and our employees have top priority.

Here you can find current information about the Ministry of Health NRW.

Even after the most recent change in the Infection Protection Act, the obligation to wear a medical mask applies in all public transport (Section 3 (1) CoronaSchVO NRW). Of course, you can continue to wear FFP2 masks if you wish. Passengers who cannot wear a mask for medical reasons and who can prove this with a medical certificate, which must be presented on request, are exempt from the mask requirement. If children between the ages of 6 and 13 cannot wear a medical face mask due to the fit, an everyday mask must be worn instead.

The STOAG buses and trams run according to the regular timetable. Also the Revierflitzer® drive fully in the Oberhausen urban area.

All current timetable data from the transport companies in the VRR can be called up via the electronic timetable information or the STOAG app. Here you come to electronic timetable information.

Front entry in the bus / ticket purchase

All STOAG buses are equipped with a partition at the driver's workplace - this protects passengers and drivers. Therefore, both front entry and ticket purchase are possible. Cashless payment with all major credit cards, with Girocard, Google Pay and Apple Pay is possible in our buses.Of course, you can use your tickets too online and  to buy. Entry at the middle door is only valid for buses that are used as booster buses during the Corona period.

Behavior in the vehicles and at the stops

Buses and trams are not places that are more dangerous to health than other places, provided that the hygiene rules are followed. A current study by the Charite Research Organization has shown that the regular use of public transport is not associated with a higher risk of a corona infection compared to private transport.

In North Rhine-Westphalia there is an obligation to wear a medical mask on all public transport. Of course, FFP2 masks can still be worn - we recommend these masks to all passengers. If children between the ages of 6 and 13 cannot wear a medical face mask due to the fit, an everyday mask must be worn instead. Anyone who cannot wear a mask for medical reasons must prove this with a medical certificate, which must be presented on request.

According to the North Rhine-Westphalian Corona Protection Ordinance, public transport has been explicitly excluded from the distance requirement.

Even if it is compulsory to wear mouth and nose protection and the distance requirement in public transport does not apply, we ask you to spread yourself out as well as possible on the buses and also at the stops and to keep your distance from other passengers.

All STOAG buses have air conditioning. The entire amount of air in the bus is exchanged about every three minutes, and the constant opening of the doors at the stops supports the regular exchange of air in the vehicle.

Please adhere to the common hygiene rules:

  • If possible, wash your hands thoroughly before and after using public transport, even if the risk of getting infected through objects is low.
  • Not only, but also in our vehicles: Keep your hands away from your face.
  • Cough and sneeze into a tissue or the crook of your arm.
  • Touch as little as possible in the vehicle.
  • Please refrain from eating or drinking while driving or while waiting.

The Revierflitzer® are still there for you at the usual times. As a passenger, please also wear a medical mask or FFP2 mask when traveling with the Revierflitzer®. Please put on your mask before boarding. In the vehicles, the so-called London taxis, the passenger compartment and driver's cabin are separated by a Plexiglas pane.
