There is a discounted DeutschlandTicket for schoolchildren, which is also offered by the school authority in Oberhausen. As a new customer, you have the option of ordering the DeutschlandTicket School by mail, by email to abo@stoag.de, or at one of our customer centers. Please fill out the following order form, have the application stamped by the school, and submit it to STOAG. If you submit it to the customer center, you will receive the DeutschlandTicket School immediately, if possible. Otherwise, it will be sent to your home address.

Validity and price

With the DeutschlandTicket Schule (Germany School Ticket), students can travel throughout Germany around the clock on public transport and regional rail services to school and for leisure activities – including weekends and holidays. For those paying out of pocket, the ticket costs €43 as a subscription.

Eligibility

If the journey to the nearest school is more than 3,5 km, you may be entitled to reimbursement of travel expenses. For primary school students, this applies from 2 km. For upper secondary school students, the limit is 5 km. To verify your eligibility and submit a corresponding application, please contact the responsible school office directly. 

Families whose children are entitled to reimbursement of travel expenses by the school authority pay a co-payment of €14 for the first child and €7 for the second child per month and ticket for a DeutschlandTicket School. Adult children in a family are not included in this calculation and always pay the same fare as for the first eligible child. No co-payment is charged for the third child and children receiving ongoing subsistence assistance.

Loss of the chip card

Should your DeutschlandTicket Schule be lost, you can order a new chip card for a fee of 10,00 euros in one of our three customer centers , by phone via our Smart Number 0800 6 50 40 30 (free of charge from all German networks) or by email to abo at @stoag dot .de .

Cancellation of subscription

The DeutschlandTicket School can be canceled free of charge on the 10th of each month.

Useful information

If your child already has a smartphone, we recommend downloading the free STOAG app . With it, your child can find timetable information for all journeys to school, home, and leisure activities – and, thanks to real-time information, know immediately whether the bus is on time.

The DeutschlandTicket School is a personal ticket, meaning it is only valid in conjunction with a photo ID (including a student ID).

If the ticket is forgotten and cannot be presented during a ticket inspection, it can be presented within one week at one of our three customer centers for a fee of €7.
