In addition to the VRR semester ticket, a contract university can use the NRW semester ticket. This means that students can use all buses, trains and trains on local transport in North Rhine-Westphalia.

The VRR semester ticket and the NRW semester ticket are not freely available. It is automatically included in the semester fee for every student.

Pre-course ticket

Prospective students who are enrolled for the first semester and attend so-called preliminary courses before starting their studies can purchase a preliminary course ticket.

• The pre-course ticket is valid for 30 consecutive days from the date printed on it (starting day freely selectable).
• The pre-course ticket is valid in the entire network area (price level D).
• Owners of a pre-course ticket can apply from Monday to Friday from 19 p.m. and on Saturdays, Sundays, public holidays and on December 24.12th and 31.12. Take another person with you all day.
• The VorkursTicket is only available to eligible first-semester students (upon presentation of proof of entitlement) in our customer centers two months before the start of the semester.
