Close cooperation - guarantee for the success of vocational training

Silke Neu has reached the first stage goal. She has passed the theoretical and practical driving test for bus drivers and the IHK test for the commercial transport of people. However, the time for learning is not over yet. Since August 24.08.2015, 5, Ms. Neu and 16.09 other graduates of the bus driver training have been going to school at STOAG. Now there are training courses in the tariff law of the Verkehrsverbund Rhein-Ruhr and instruction in the STOAG network as well as practical driving instructions on public buses. "I will manage that too", Ms. Neu looks optimistically into the future, because once this stage has been successfully completed, she and her fellow campaigners will be able to do so from XNUMX. Work at AKP for STOAG.

Werner Overkamp, Managing Director of STOAG, rates the cooperation to date positively. In an initial meeting in November 2014, STOAG signaled the need for skilled workers and, together with the Oberhausen Job Center and the Oberhausen Employment Agency, looked for ways to meet this demand. One result was the early involvement of the STOAG personnel department in the selection processes prior to qualification. This facilitated and accelerated the recruiting measures considerably. This made it possible to give employment commitments on the condition that the measure was successfully completed.

For Annette Gleibs, Managing Director of the Job Center Oberhausen, this is one of the special features of this qualification measure, because “the participants began the qualification with the certainty of a permanent position immediately after the successful further training. Having this specific goal in mind increases motivation significantly and makes it easier for those entitled to help to cope with the tasks and challenges associated with vocational training measures. "

Suitable applicants were identified through the joint employer service of the Oberhausen Employment Agency and the Oberhausen Job Center. After exploratory talks by AKP and STOAG, they received the education vouchers required for qualification. Sibylle Lorke, deputy head of the Oberhausen Employment Agency, sees another advantage of this approach. "With the security of being hired after successful qualification, your own concerns about the professional opportunities following further training do not arise."

"The project shows what win-win situation can be achieved by well-organized cooperation between various Oberhausen institutions for the benefit of all those involved," said Werner Overkamp. Against the background of future needs and the positive experience, the partners will continue to cooperate in the future and ", assures Annette Gleibs," use the need for workers in the transport sector in order to offer long-term professional prospects to other people who are looking for help.
